Govt to release commemorative coins in honour of Annadurai

The Government of India has decided to release commemorative coins in honour of social reformer and former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Thiru Annadurai, during the 100th birth anniversary celebrations commencing from his birthday on September 15.
Annadurai’s contributions to politics, tamil literature, drama, cinema and social reforms are well known.
He was a follower of E.V.R. Periyar, the founder of the Dravida Kazhagam, and was in the forefront of the rationalist movement.
Annadurai is held in high esteem among the people of Tamil Nadu as well as by Tamils all over the world.
