New York, Oct 22 (IANS) Hollywood actress Naomi Watts is set to play Nobel Peace Prize winner Jody Williams in a new biopic.
The actress is in talks with Universal studio bosses to take on the role of outspoken Williams, a teacher who became known for her work on the International Campaign to Ban Landmines, for which she was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1997, reports contactmusic.com.
Williams has continued to campaign for peace and equality, and in 2006 teamed up with five other Nobel honorees to form The Nobel Women’s Initiative, to fight for women’s rights across the globe.
The movie, titled “My Name Is Jody Williamsâ€, will be directed by Audrey Wells.
