Blue Star net profit falls in second quarter

New Delhi, Oct 27 (IANS) Blue Star, the country’s largest central air-conditioning and commercial refrigeration company, Monday reported a near Rs.10-million dip in its net profit in the second quarter this fiscal.

In a regulatory statement, Blue Star said it posted a net profit of Rs.449.5 million for the quarter ended Sep 30, 2008, as compared to Rs.459.7 million in the corresponding period a year earlier, a company statement said.

The total income, however, rose to Rs. 6.47 billion in the period under review from Rs.5.48 billion last year.

The company said the results include the results of the electrical contracting business acquired from Naseer Electricals in January this year, and hence the performance in the second quarters in the two year cannot be compared.
