State Bank net up 40.2 percent in second quarter

New Delhi, Oct 27 (IANS) State Bank of India (SBI) Monday posted 40.2 percent growth in net profit to Rs.22.59 billion for the quarter ended Sep 30, as against Rs.16.11 billion registered in the corresponding period last year.

The total income grew 31.1 percent Rs.179.09 billion for the current quarter as against Rs.136.58 billion.

The group has reported 10.6 percent increase in net profit to Rs.23.78 billion for the second quarter, as compared to Rs.21.5 billion.

The total income increased 26.4 percent to Rs.270.83 billion for the quarter as against Rs.214.24 billion last corresponding period.
