Texas goes to McCain, Iowa to Obama

Washington, Nov 5 (DPA) The southern state of Texas would vote in favour of Republican presidential candidate John McCain, US networks projected late Tuesday.

Democratic nominee Barack Obama was projected to win Iowa, a mid-western state McCain had hoped to keep in the Republican column.

Texas, a reliably Republican state, is the second largest prize in the US with 34 electoral votes.
