Leona Lewis named Best Pop Female at World Music Awards

London, Nov 10 (IANS) Upcoming British singer Leona Lewis picked up two prizes at the World Music Awards Sunday night.

The 23-year-old former “The X Factor” contestant was among a host of other British talent like Coldplay, Ringo Starr and Amy Winehouse to scoop awards at the ceremony in Monte Carlo, reports dailymail.co.uk.

The young star was named Best Pop Female at the event, which honours the best selling acts of the year and hers was also named the Best New Act.

She, however, was not present to collect her awards.
